Investigating English Vocabulary Difficulties and Its Learning Strategies of Lower Secondary School Students

Vocabulary plays a crucial role in language proficiency as it serves the foundation for effective acquisition. The ability to acquire vocabulary is considered prerequisite learning language. Therefore, primary objective of this research investigate difficulties encountered by students their process well strategies they employ overcome these obstacles context English participants study consisted nine at various levels lower secondary school, along with one teacher. Employing descriptive qualitative method, semi-structured interviews were conducted gather data research. interview questions focused on investigating faced and utilized address challenges. To facilitate analysis, each was meticulously recorded transcribed. analysis technique employed entailed analysis. findings revealed that significant number acquiring vocabulary. Specifically, challenges manifested areas such correct pronunciation new words, accurate spelling, proper usage word meanings, retention or memorization In order mitigate difficulties, strategies, including utilizing media resources smartphones, internet, games employing note-taking techniques consulting dictionaries aid process.
